The situation is fluid : London Underground

The Tube Union strike is beginning to pinch London Underground (LU). The situation is fluid is fluid, Disruption is possible throughout the day says LU.

In the Northern line, some stations are currently closed. Central Line is working. The Bakerloo line is operating only between Queen’s Park and Elephant & Castle. The District line is operating between Barking and Wimbledon. The Jubilee line is operating a special service between Finchley Road and Stanmore. The Metropolitan line is operating between Baker Street and Moor Park, and Uxbridge and Amersham.

Mike Brown, Managing Director of LU, says “Londoners will face some disruption, but the city is not paralysed – and people will still be able to get around.”

Yesterday TUC general secretary Brendan Barber supported the RMT/TSSA Tube strike. He said “Tube staff are right to say there can be no compromise on safety and we fully support their action. The Mayor should honour his election promises and put a halt to these cuts.”
