Kill Taliban by all means, but verify

The Pakistani Army has finally started battling the Taliban. It is good news Current death toll ia advertised as “65 Taliban militants killed.” This news is even better.
There is a doubt however. The Pakistani Army is re-engaging the Taliban after the initial defeat. Thanks to the billions of US dollar motivation. But are the Taliban being really killed or it is fake encounters for the dollars? Given the Pakistani government’s track record, there is reason to be skeptical. Does US or the world has any verification methods? There are Human Rights agencies at every nook and corner. Where are they now? Why are they silent? In SWAT everyone Lives in Fear. There are patterns of impunity in SWAT because of the abuses by the Pakistani army / paramilitaries, as well as by militants.
Will the US government launch a credible and independent investigation into all “disappearances” and fake “encounter killings” in SWAT since the conflict began? Mr. Brad Adams, Asia director at Human Rights Watch, will you please stand up?
