India has lodged a protest with Pakistan over the alleged forcible collection of Rs 20 million religious tax from Pakistan based Sikhs by Taliban. Taliban had seized the homes and businesses of Sikhs living in the Northwestern Frontier Province of Pakistan (NWFP) demanding millions of Pakistani Rupees as jazia, while terming them as Infidels. Many Sikh families have been forced to leave their homes in the NWFP. The Taliban say that the Sikhs are an unwanted minority in Pakistan.

On May 9, 2009, Protesters in Jammu marched to the UN military observers’ group (UNMOGIP) office and submitted a memorandum seeking protection of minorities in Pakistan.

Simranjit Singh Mann, President of Shiromani Akali Dal said that he was ready to talk to Taliban on ‘jazia’ on Sikhs. His political opponents, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and former CM Capt Amarinder Singh appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take up the issue with Pakistan. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in both India and Pakistan also protested.

As per reports, Pakistan based Sikh families, want to migrate and settle in India for good.

In the history of India, The Mughal rulers (except Akbar) imposed jazia. Pakistanis are the legitimate / illegitimate children of of Arab and Islamic raiders who raped and cohabited with Hindu women. Historically, the Pakistanis have been desperate to equate themselves to original Muslims. This is evident by the current Pakistani diplomatic attempt to be called Middle-Eastern Arab Muslim state. Pakistani Analyst equate Pakistanis as Mughals. Taliban, Sharia etc has been manifestation of such an attempt by Pakistani dictator General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq who drove Pakistan to further Islamization. Currently Pakistan resembles the Islamic Trash can of the world.

Guru Nanak Dev formed Sikhism as he did not agree with various Hindu concepts. Afghans and Mughals had attacked to destroy the Sikhs many times, but the Sikhs fought back. Sikhs also requested first born male of Hindu families to fight the Muslims. Lahore and Multan have been the places where Sikhs shed blood against the Muslims.

Khalistanis are extremist minority which tried breaking away from India. They used the revered Golden Temple to horde arms and ammunition which resulted in Indian Army (Operation Bluestar) entering the temple complex creating a huge uproar in Sikh community. Subsequently in Operation Black Thunder, Indian Army did not repeat the mistake of Operation Blue Star and cleared the Khalistanis. The state of India and the Khalistani militants wrecked untold misery on the Sikh community.

The Punjab problem was supported by the Pakistanis and CIA. This is a documented fact. Currently Khalistanis operate in US, UK and some European countries with Pakistani (infamous ISI) and western funds.

Be it the turban issue in US school or jazia on Sikhs in Pakistan, the Khalistanis are unable to influence due to the sponsorship by these very forces. Khalistanis act in consort with the very forces the Sikhs have fought in their entire history.
