Indian Home Minister can do his own work for a change

India Home Minister P Chidambaram has been slamming Naxals and its sympathizers in media. A day back he came out with a brilliant statement that Naxals are being equipped from “other countries.” Its amazing, Mr. Chidambaram found it out finally! For your kind information Mr. Chidambaram, us Indians already know about it. Now since you have figured that out, how about taking some action?

This is not the first time Mr. P Chidambaram has started blaming others for his own failure. Earlier as a Finance Minister, his tax fetish and inability led to economic crisis. He had blamed the oil prices for the inflation. Then fortunately for him, the world recession set in. You could hear him blaming oil, industry, recession and what not sitting in Washington. Guess, what he was doing there? He was negotiating some nuclear deal.

Today as a Home Minister, you can find him writing new tax codes, inaugurating ATM’s and addressing empty rallies in Pune. While lecturing empty benches in Pune election rally, he forgot that he barely scrapped through his own constituency. Not to forget, when P Chidambaram was talking to the empty benches in Pune, a police officer fighting Naxals, died for wanting a helicopter to shift him to hospital. A famous journalist Talveen Singh once wrote in a column that P Chidambaram is one of the ministers who survives by charisma and not by performance.

While the entire economy was a causality during his tenure as finance minister, now the poor police men are dying because of his incompetence.

So Mr. Palaniappan Chidambaram, how about leaving your finance ministry hangover and concentrate on Home Ministry? Next time, you issue one more of these sound bytes, you should remember that we are not biting. Your US visits, Police conferences, ITBP visits do not impress us. As a benchmark, at the end of your tenure, we will be checking if you could bring LeT/JuD to knees, if Naxal problem was addressed and if terrorist attacks on India have reduced. If you cannot quit practicing your tax fetish on the nation, please spare the taxes on retirement income and insurance with women and children as beneficiaries.

And one more thing Mr. Chidambaram, quit making widows.
