The comic Tintin is now avaliable in Hindi. A set of eight Tintin books were unveiled by the Embassy of Belgium in collaboration with publisher Om Books International.
Key changes when being translated in to hindi are, Tintins catchphrase “Great Snakes” has been trenslated into “Baal ki khaal”; Captain Archibald Haddock says “Karod kasmasate kaale kacchuve” instead of “billions of bilious blue blistering barnacles”; Snowy the dog is named Natkhat and detectives Thomson and Thompson have been renamed Santu and Bantu.
The individual prices of the comics translated to Hindi is Rs 195/-, which makes it more more affordable.
The eight comics are Tintin In The Congo, The Broken Ear, Tintin in America, The Black Island, the Crab With The Golden Claws, King Ottokar’s Sceptre and The Cigars of The Pharoh.
