The first flight of the modernized Su-24

The military airfield Pereyaslavka “Far East” held its first flight on 26 January of upgraded Su-24 bombers. The flight was witnessed by representatives from the Research Institute of St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk Aviation Plant. The first aircraft arrived in the aviation regiment on 24 December last year from Novosibirsk.

The first flight of the modernized Su-24 bombers was carried out by experienced crew. Commander of the association of the Air Force and Air Defense, Lieutenant-General Valery Ivanov said that the flights will be conducted four times a week.

The first flight conducted in adverse weather was witnessed by young officers from 2006-2007 batch. These included the Pilots and engineering crew.
