36th National Junior Badminton champ at Jaipur gets record participation
By Frontier India News Network (FINN) | February 4th, 2012 | No Comments »The 36th National Junior Badminton championship scheduled to be held in Jaipur, has attracted a record number of entries this time. The competitions are scheduled from Saturday onwards and finish on 12th February.
It will be played in both U-17 and U-19 categories. The secretary of the Rajasthan Badminton Association, K K Sharma said it was the first time that the junior nationals will be hosting matches in under-17 and under-19 sections.
Earlier the championship used to have only under-19 age group matches. The number of competitors has swelled to more than one thousand.
The matches will be played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Indor Badminton Hall. The total prize money for the tournament is Three lakhs to be paid on the final day.
Inter- Zonal Inter State Team Championship shall be played for Challenge Cup (Team), Narang Cup (Boys) and Shafi Qureshi Cup (Girls).
All the matches in the main and qualifying draw shall be played best of three games of 21 points on a rally point system.
Each organiser shall be provided with 200 tubes of Yonex Shuttles.
