Russian Nuclear Submarine Project 971 completes navigation trials
Under the first phase of acceptance tests by Russian Navy, navigation test of nuclear submarine “Panther” (Project 971) is over. On 27 December 2007, The submarine returned to Sevmash where the repairs are being carried on.
In the course of tests the functional check of all devices, general ship-based systems, power plant is realized. As a result of repair the technical readiness of ship is completely restored.
This month the plan is to send the submarine to its permanent base in coast of Kola peninsula for further tests. The submarine will then return to Severodvinsk for the completion of tests.
