Russia Air Force plans to buy 12 Ka-52 helicopters (Alligator) next year. This is subject to KA-52’s having completed all its mandated testing said Air Force Chief of Russia Colonel-General Alexander Zelin.
Russian is planning to induct MI-28 helicopters, which will start arriving in 2009. Mi-28 and Ka-52 should complement each other said A. Zelin. Ka-52, he said – is a special-purpose helicopter.
According to him, Russia Air Force budget for 2009 will change quantitatively and qualitatively in comparison with 2008. He explained that there will be induction of new modern equipments like planes, helicopters and improved technology. In addition, A. Zelin said that the development of a fifth generation fighter aircraft will be completed in the timeframe.
