Russian Air defense missile brigade equipped with complexes “Buk-M1″, on Tuesday 15th January, assumed at the service deployment in Transbaikalia.
“Today the brigade, armed with anti-aircraft missile complexes” Buk-M1, in a solemn atmosphere assumed at the first service deployment in the territory of the Republic of Buryatia, “- the commander told journalists association, Siberian Air Force and Air Defense Nikolai Danilov.
He pointed out that this brigade transferred to the Air Force from the Army in December 2006.
The Russian BUK-M1 (NATO: SA-11 GADFLY ) surface-to-air medium-range missile system is designed to engage aerial targets, including aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters as well as short range ballistic missiles.
