Royal Thai Air Force purchases three VIP S-92(R) helicopters
The Royal Thai Air Force has become the latest head-of-state customer to fly a Sikorsky S-92(R) VIP helicopter, as Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. today announced the sale of three of the VIP aircraft to transport the Thai royal family.
The contract was signed by Air Chief Marshal Paisal Sitabutr and Sikorsky representatives, marking the company’s first sale to the Royal Thai Air Force. All three aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in 2010.
The helicopter is certified to the latest FAA/JAA Part 29 regulations. S-92 features an advanced rotor system and 5,000+ installed horsepower twin turboshaft engines.
