Polish Air Force selects Rockwell Collins F-16 maintenance trainer
The Polish Air Force has selected the Rockwell Collins F-16C Modular Simulated Aircraft Maintenance Trainer (MSAMT) for the training of the aircraft’s maintenance personnel. The trainer is scheduled to be delivered in April 2008. The MSAMT Trainer, a system-specific device made up of off-the-shelf hardware, has been developed by Rockwell Collins to provide next generation maintenance training using an immersive and interactive virtual image-based solution.
The MSAMT design supports classroom-based training for novice and advanced F-16 maintenance personnel. The Polish MSAMT is a derivative of the 24 U.S. Air Force MSAMT trainers that Rockwell Collins developed and delivered in 2005.
“The MSAMT trainer, with its knowledge-based training, provides our customers with lower life cycle costs and the latest technology for training F-16 maintenance personnel,” said Ken Schreder, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins.
The selection marks the second MSAMT delivered to a foreign customer. Rockwell Collins delivered an MSAMT trainer to the Egyptian Air Force in September 2007 providing both systems under a contract with the U.S. Air Force that includes a multi-year Contractor Logistics Support package.
