Man with flesh-eating disease dies in Hong kong

The Centre for Health Protection in Hong Kong is investigating a case of necrotising fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating disease, involving a 59-year-old man who died August 6.
The Fanling man had suffered from fever, chills, shortness of breath and left arm swelling since July 19. He was admitted to North District Hospital July 28.
Laboratory tests found Vibrio vulnificus, a type of bacteria that causes flesh-eating disease. It is a serious bacterial infection that can destroy tissue and cause death in 12 to 24 hours of infection
