MoS for Defence visits Southern Naval Command

The Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM- Minister of State for Defence) MM Pallam Raju commenced an Official visit to the Southern Naval Command, Kochi on 01 Jul 08. The Minister was received at the Headquarters Southern Naval Command by VAdm Sunil K Damle, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief. MoS for Defence thereafter reviewed the activities of the Southern Naval Command where he was also briefed on the progress of the Naval Academy Project at Ezhimala. On completion of the briefing, the Minister visited various training establishments of the Southern Naval Command.

Pallam Raju visited Cochin Shipyard Limited in the afternoon. The Minister is also slated to visit the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL) on 02 Jul 08. The documents and software of the advanced Sonar HUMSA- NG developed by NPOL for the Indian Navy would be handed over to Bharath Electronics Limited ( BEL) in the presence of MM Pallam Raju.
