Military World 07 Games open
The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command Vice Admiral J S Bedi yesterday opened the World Military Games.
An oath-taking ceremony was also held for the participants at Kohli Stadium, Colaba.
Even as 13 sporting events are underway at Hyderabad, two of the events — sailing and triathlon — will be held in the city.
The actual events would start from October 16 to October 21.
Mumbai will play host to over 350 athletes, officials and guests from over 35 countries. The participating countries include Brazil, China, India, Croatia and Austria among others. Each country will field a team of five men and five women athletes to compete in individual and team events.
