Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. has completed delivery of eight UH-60L BLACK HAWK helicopters to the Kingdom of Jordan. The Jordanian Special Operations Aviation Brigade has been using the BLACK HAWK helicopters for special operations and border security since the first three were delivered last summer at a ceremony in Amman, Jordan. The remaining aircraft were delivered to Jordan in October. The aircraft were part of a foreign military sale structured through the U.S. government.

Since 1987, the Royal Jordanian Air Force has flown Sikorsky aircraft and currently operates five UH-60/S-70A helicopters in its Royal Squadron. BLACK HAWK helicopter derivatives currently serve 26 governments around the world in a diverse range of missions, from combat assault and peacekeeping to disaster relief and medical evacuation.

Sikorsky also plans to introduce a BLACK HAWK helicopter model specifically for the international market, with production taking place in Mielec, Poland.

Meanwhile United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) have signed a direct commercial sale contract for 10 S-70A BLACK HAWK helicopters to upgrade the fleet used by U.A.E. Armed Forces.
