Jairam Ramesh shows why politicians are parasites

Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh is normally a resourceful man. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed bio degradable toilets for Indian Armed forces, which has found uses in Indian Railways and India’s vast rural estate. Jairam is all for abolition of open defecation in coming years and is logically interested in the technology. No harm done, it is a fantastic idea too.

But politicians are plain shit and Jairam ramesh is no different. Since he got interested in civilian use of defence technology, he also wants to suck Defence Forces dry to fund his rural toilets. Besides his new-found intention, he made the comment at an inopportune time. He let known his malaise intention the day nation remembered the dead and brave soldiers who fought and won Kargil War. Woefully short on equipment, ammunition and toilets at battlefield, the brave young men faced bullets on their chest and stomach to liberate critical peaks from the well entrenched enemy. For your information Mr Jairam Ramesh, no Indian Soldier shit in his pants and it was the enemy khakis which were browned further.

NGO’s have shown that rural toilets can be built for just Rs 500. Just the other day, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the planning commission head splurged Rs 35 lakhs on a single toilet. So logically, with Montek Singh Ahluwalia’s single toilet budget, 7000 rural toilets can be built. However, Jairam Ramesh thinks that the cost of a single Rafale fighter could make 1,000 village panchayats “free from open-defecation.” Between Montek Sing’s bladder and life of a brave soldier, guess what politicians will choose?
