Pir Panjal Brigade organises tour for girls from remote to Kashmir heartland

Twenty girl students from the remote villages of Nambla, Sahora, Hathlanga, Silikot, Morthal, Gharkot, Lagama and Saidpura returned home after a two day tour to Gulmarg and Srinagar. Pir Panjal Brigade of Dagger Division organised the tour for girl students and three lady school teachers. The trip to Gulmarg and Srinagar on 29 and 30 January 2012.

It was an amusing experience for the girl students as they enjoyed seeing world famous places present in their State Jammu and Kashmir. Rustam Battalion conducted this tour which showed these children the glory of past, the strength of our present and the lofty aspirations of future of J & K.

Gandola ride and skiing at Gulmarg was highly appreciated by them. They spent one entire day in Srinagar and admired Chashm-E-Shahi, Shalimar and Nishat Garden, Mughal Garden, Dal Lake. They also visited “Ibadat-E-Shahadat” at Chinar Corps. Girls were highly motivated after meeting Medical Students at “Sher-E-Kashmir” Medical College and seeing ‘Police Academy’, Srinagar.

In a colourful flagging in ceremony at Pir Panjal Brigade, the tour was welcomed back where the girls and their parents shared their experiences. The village elders and eminent personalities of local area present in the function thanked Army for showing the cultural heritage of Kashmir to the children of Rustam Battalion remote areas.
