Indian Army busts Terrorist hideout in Bandipura

Srinagar: Indian Army on 3rd February, bust an terrorist hideout in Bandipura in Kashmir. Army was acting upon specific inputs received over the last 2-3 days, of movement of two foreign terrorists in the forests of Chhanadaji, a village about 10 km North of Bandipura in North Kashmir.

3 MADRAS battalion along with Special Task Force, Bandipura launched search operations in the forests overlooking the village on 2nd February. The forests in the area are dense and snow in the higher reaches made movement extremely difficult.

Inspite of the snowfall throughout the day yesterday, the Army troops and STF were able to track down the hideout being used by the terrorists in a mountain cave on steep cliffs.

The recoveries include one rifle AK-47 with 200 live bullets, four pistols of Pakistan origin with 15 bullets and a Chinese hand grenade. Search operations are still continuing for the terrorists.
