The Government has imported defence items including raw materials for its use during the last three years also. These items are sourced from various countries including Russia, the USA, the UK, France, Israel, Germany, Australia, Italy, Ukraine, etc. Divulging the details relating to these items on the floor of the House would not be in the interests of national security. The expenditure incurred on import of defence items during 2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 is as under:-

The government has no policy of importing required defence items available indigenously with less price does not arise.


It is essential to import high tech. state-of-art equipment to defend your borders and homeland security. However, it should be top priorty to be able to design & develop your own equipment especially when you have so much talent.we are living in a knowledge based century, learn the lessons and be innovative that will bring peace & happiness to the future generations.
