Excerpts:-
Q. What is this Chhutanki all about?
This is India’s first ever live cum animation film. ‘“Chhutanki” is revolves around the main Animated lead character Chhutanki, his mysterious birth then upbringing and training by his guru Akhand Dev. Takla Baba(Live) who is master of magical powers heads the evil forces with his sidekick Surili (Live) and his animated goons Saand, Crocodile and Dragons. He has captured the Childhood of Chhutanki to create a powerful clone force Full of action, special effect, songs; the story depicts victory of good over evil.
Q. Tell us about its making and budget? It took 14 creative months a team of 40 special effect experts. We had to work continually hard to bring out the film this film which is not dramatically excellent but technically at par with any Hollywood film. Because of its high quality special effects budget has shot up to approximately 6-7 crore.
Q. Does making of such films require extra effort?
3 D film making is a difficult job. And live cum Animation film in 3D is double difficult job. When we shoot with live character, we have to keep in the mind a lot of thing which will take place only in studio. Artists have to play his role with imaginary character and we, the technicians, have to accommodate space and atmosphere for animation characters. We usually have to take 4-5 times more shot for such films. We had to take in excess of 400 shots for our films. Experience was gruesome but out come very satisfying.
Q. Do you plan to make such a film with big artists or may be a TV serial?
There is no problem in making such a film with big artists but their lack of date come in our way. Any delay or unavailability of date can over budget the film many folds. For serials I am in talk with many channels and very soon I will announce it.
Q. You seem to direct films only for your banner. When will you break free this cocoon and direct outside film?
It is just lack of time which is not allowing me to work outside films but I am not against it. If I like the project I will work.
Q. What are your future projects?
I love kids and when I make a film I take care of their tastes.
