Tata Group Chairman, Ratan Tata, on Sunday announced that all their businesses in aerospace and defence will be centered in Hyderabad. Yesterday saw TATA handing over the first Indian built cabin for Sikorsky S-92 helicopter for US-based Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.
The cabins are being manufactured by Tata Advanced Systems (TAS) at Adibatla SEZ, which lies on the outskirts of Hyderabad. TAS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. TAS acts as the umbrella body for all of TATA group’s defence related businesses.

The first helicopter cabin would be exported to Sikorsky’s assembly unit in the US on November. Hyderabad is all set to get the AgustaWestland helicopter manufacturing unit at GMR Group’s aviation SEZ.
