Elbit Systems Ltd. announced today that its subsidiary, Elisra Electronic Systems Ltd. (Elisra), was awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin Canada Ltd valued at approximately $55 million to supply Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment for the Canadian Navy’s Halifax Frigate Modernization program. Elisra’s systems were selected after meeting the strict standards and challenges required by the customer.

Elisra will supply the equipment as part of a large scale Canadian Navy project awarded to Lockheed Martin Canada for the upgrade of twelve Halifax Class Frigates. The upgrade project, valued at over C$2 billion, includes implementation, integration and support of new command & control systems, radar, data link systems and EW.

Elisra will meet its Industrial Benefits requirements as mandated by Industry Canada through the execution of a separate Technology Transfer and Manufacturing License Agreement with Lockheed Martin Canada. At its facility in Kanata, Ontario, Lockheed Martin will manufacture the Electronic Support Measures component and provide the follow-on in-service support.
