Dr.Revankar takes over as Director D.A.R.E

Dr.UK.Revankar has taken charge as Director for Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE), an establishment in Defence Research and Development Organisation in Bangalore. He has obtained M.E degree and Ph.D degree in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Soon after his Post Graduation he joined Defence Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), a DRDO laboratory, Bangalore, in the year 1974 and then DARE in the year 2006. He has contributed significantly in the Indigenous Design and Development of Radar Systems and Airborne EW Systems.
He is the recipient of IETE-IRSI (83) Award in 1997 and NRDC National Technology Meritorious Award in 2005. He is a Fellow of IETE and has published around 45 research articles in International / National Conferences / Symposiums. He has three patents to his credit, for which he is the Principal Inventor, granted in USA, Europe and India.
DARE formerly known as Advanced Systems Integration and Evaluation Organisation (ASIEO), was created in 1986 with the objective of enhancing the operational capabilities of the IAF by equipping the aircraft with State-of-the-art indigenous Defensive Avionics and Mission Avionics. Since its inception, DARE has made rapid strides in design and development of the Mission Avionics: Core Avionics Processors and Software ; Defensive Avionics: Airborne Electronic Warfare Suites; Simulation, test and Evaluation facilities for Airborne EW and Avionics upgrades.
