Deputy Chief of the Air Force denied that Russian strategic bombers violated the airspace of Japan

The Air Force Deputy Chief, Lieutenant General Igor Sadofev denied that the Russian Air Force Aviation had violate the airspace of Japan. The Japanese Foreign Ministry in an official sent a protest note to the Russian Embassy in Tokyo.

He said “On behalf of the Air Force Chief, I have been authorized to comment on the incident. Our strategic aviation aircraft did not violate the airspace of Japan, they had scheduled flights, in strict accordance with international rules.”

In the alleged incident, a Tu-95 Bear strategic bomber flew over the Sofugan pinnacle several hundred miles south of Tokyo. 24 Japanese fighters, including F-15s, take off to intercept it.
