Cmde( Retd) Ranjit Rai (IDU Analysis) is a Navigator and Air Force trained Air Controller. He attended Yarrow Shipyard, HMS Dryad and RN Staff College UK and has Commanded 3 ships and India’s Naval Academy. He has served as Director Operations(DNO) and Intelligence (DNI) at NHQ. Cmde Rai has served as a Defence Adviser in the Indian High Commission Singapore and South East Asia for 4 years with visits to Australia USA and China.
Cmde( Retd) Ranjit Rai Completed Ship Management Course at IIM Ahmedabad, and served as Indian Rep for USA’s largest LASH Project carrier Waterman Steam Ship Corporation till 2003 which also had ships leased to US Military Sea Lift Command. Presently he is the Vice President of Indian Maritime Foundation, NGO which deals with Maritime and Security issues. Writes, as an Author of four books including a Nation and Its Navy at War. He is also a Defence Analyst and Broadcaster. He is a regular speaker on maritime, military, nuclear, and energy issues. In 2009 he visited shipyards, ports and think tanks in China.
