Congress I formalises Rahul Gandhi as the Vice president

Jaipur: The Indian National Congress has finally gone through the motion of formally announcing Rahul Gandhi as the Vice president of the party. The informal role by Rahul Gandhi has raised questions about his accountability over the decisions taken by him and overall he was being perceived as a failure after the Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat state elections.

Congress Spokesman Janardhan Dwivedi while announcing Rahul Gandhi’s election as the VP, said that if he will lead the 2014 general election will be taken at a later stage.

Dwiedi saud that AK Antony has proposed Rahul gandhi’s name for the Vice Presidentship, which was followed by general thumping in approval by attended and finally approved by his Mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The announcement also marks the end of the two day Chintan Shivir of All India Congress committee in Jaipur which discussed a range of issues including social, economic and party issues.

Opposition BJP said that it is not surprised by the decision and the move was imminent.
