Chief of Russian Air Force argues for Aerospace Command
Russia needs a Aerospace Command with the integration air force, air defense, missiles and Space Defense says Russian Air Force chief Colonel General Alexander Zelin.
Arguing its position, he said that by 2020, there would be a fundamental change in the development of the air space for military purposes. In particular, the hypersonic aircrafts and weapons which will work on new physical principles.
He said that it will be necessary to create an Aerospace Command, the air force and the systems of rocket-space defense should be under united management and control.
Similarly the space troops, anti satellite systems and space transport systems will be needed for a war in space.
Currently, rocket and space systems are operated by the Defense Space Forces.
