For Pune’s healthcare, low cost mobile phones have been recommended to gather and report information that could help officials more quickly identify and resolve both short term events, such as disease outbreaks, and chronic public health issues, such as infant mortality. People can automatically update physicians about their health status via mobile phones. Hospitals can send SMS alerts when a child is due to receive immunization or when precautions need to be taken during public health emergencies. IBM has recommended a single, region-wide telephone number to summon emergency responders.

Similarly, for transportation and law authorities, anonymous cellphone signals and video camera feeds, can pinpoint and address roadways prone to congestion or accidents. It is believed that the amount of motorized traffic will account for over 54% of the daily trips taken by Pune citizens by 2031 — 5,000,000 trips per day.

The IT Department’s investigations into 150 cases in Mumbai unearthed 6,500 crore rupees bogus bills, while 722 crore rupees fake ones came to light through 39 cases in Pune. IT Department states that a large number of taxpayers obtained bogus (non-genuine) bills for purchases and expenses from hawala dealers and used those to suppress taxable income.

The IT department has collected these inputs from VAT / Sales Tax Department of Maharashtra.

The crackdown is set to be extended to other business centres of the country, with the tax officials closely examining the possibility of tax evasion in a planned and concerted manner through forged bills.

On February 16, bodies of three sisters were found in a well barely 2 kms away from their home in Murmadi, Bhandara Dist. Missing since February 14th, the postmortem report states the sisters aged 6, 8 and 11 were raped before being murdered.

The arrests come after the mother of the three victims on March 3 threatened to return the Rs 10 lakh compensation if the culprits are not arrested withing three days. The mother stated that she has given the list of suspicious persons to the police. she had earlier lodged a formal complaint against her mother-in-law for harassing her and her daughters.

Another forensic findings state that the girls have neither been raped or murdered. A puzzled police said that the investigations are now focused on relatives. Police on Sunday had said that they have clues that might lead to the culprits.

Maharashtra exhibited sheer brilliance against their opponents in their first game of the QUARTER FINAL leg (GROUP B) in Kollam, Kerala.

Though Maharashtra was scheduled to play the second game of the day, their game was pre poned to be the first by the organisers with prior consent of both teams. Humidity was at its peak with the temperature hovering around 38 degree Celsius but that did not deter the Maharashtra players’ confidence on the field.

A roboust 4-1 win against a strong Jharkhand side saw Maharashtra begin with confidence. Mohd Rafi scored a hat-trick of goals while Pune FC’s F Lalrempuia scored the fourth.

However, Maharashtra went down by a goal very early in the match (8 minutes). This wakeup call made them go all out in search of a victory, with Dodsal FC’s Mohd Rafi being in spectacular form. He missed two sitters during the game and still managed to score a hat trick.

Maharashtra Coach Faruk Ahmad was ecstatic at the victory and all praise for his boys. He said,” The brilliant rapport outside the field showed clearly on field today. In spite of going down by a goal early in the match, we displayed great courage to come from behind and stamp authority. We played good possession football which made it difficult for Jharkhand to create any chances. Mohd Rafi was outstanding and was rightly adjudged the Man of the Match.”

Maharashtra Captain NP Pradeep was elated at the win. He said,” We are happy at the win and look to continue this form throughout the tournament. We have a great coaching team with us ensuring camaraderie between all players and officials.”

Maharashtra play against Goa in their next game on Feb 24th 2013, which is also being pitched as the great Western India derby.

Banthia said the state is developing 4 small ports mainly for shipping, but it will also have facilities allocated for the Coastal police. He said that the landing points along the shore will also get a coastal police station.

Dn slow line services leaving Byculla from 11.04 am to 3.31 pm will be diverted on Dn fast line between Byculla and Vidyavihar stations, halting at Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla stations and further will be re-diverted on Dn slow line proper.

Dn slow line services will not be available at Chinchpokli, Curry Road and Vidyavihar stations. Passengers of these stations are permitted to travel via Parel and Ghatkopar stations in Up direction on their valid card/season tickets during the block period.

Up Harbour Line between Kurla and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus aswell as Up and Down Harbour Lines between Vadala Road and Mahim stations the block will be operated from 11.30 AM TO 3.30 PM.

Dn Harbour line services to Bandra/Andheri leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from 10.20 am to 4.04 pm and Up Harbour line services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus leaving Bandra /Andheri from 10.40 am to 3.45 pm will remain suspended.

Up Harbour line services from Panvel / Belapur/Vashi towards CST leaving Kurla from 11.08 am to 3.23 pm will run via Main line between Kurla and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. These trains will not halt at Currey Road and Chinchpokli stations.

Harbour line passengers for Bandra/ Andheri are permitted to travel Via Main line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on 17.2.2013.

Blocks will delay train by 15 minutes and crowd is expected.

During the last 4 years, Central railway increased the services from 1410 in 2008-09 to 1596 at present (around 13.2% increase). The number of coaches in service have increased from 13998 in 2008-09 to 17451 at present (around 24.6% increase).

Central Railway is now running 1596 daily suburban trains in Mumbai by utilising 119 rakes.

However special local trains will run on Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus – Mankhurd and Panvel – Thane section during the block period. Harbour line passengers Panvel / Belapur / Vashi are permitted to travel Via Trans Harbour Line / Main Line during the block period on 13.1.2013.

Due to this block, fast locals and slow locals on main line and Harbour line locals will be running about 15 minutes behind schedule. As a result of this, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Railways have requested the passengers not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board or roof top of locals and not to board extremely over-crowded trains.
