Bharat Dynamics Ltd. pays 23 Crores dividend

Major General (Retired) Raajnish Gossain, CMD, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), presented a dividend cheque of 23 crore rupees for the financial year 2006-07 to the Defence Minister today.

BDL is a mini-Ratna category-1 company and is amongst a few companies in the world having capabilities to produce state-of the-art guided weapon systems. The company has been regularly paying dividend to the government for over a decade.

BDL has achieved a turnover of Rs 433 crores this year. This year the company was awarded the prestigious Raksha Mantri’s award for excellence in design effort category for the year 2004-05, the Golden Peacock Innovation Award by the Institute of Directors, the FAPCII award for “Excellence in Research & Development (Silver Rolling Trophy)” by the government of Andhra Pradesh and the SODET award for technology development and innovation for the year 2005-06 in Silver Category. BDL has also received the Raksha Mantri’s Award for Excellence for import substitution for the year 2005-06.
