The next part of accelerated usage cum reliability trial (AUCRT) of Main Battle Tank Arjun above 40 degree is set to begin in April. The below 40 degree trials of Arjun Tank has been without any major issues. One issue that had cropped up was with the imported transmission, which, was rectified immediately.

AUCRT is an internal test procedure for army after induction of a armored vehicle for engineering and logistical performance. AUCRT will determine the role and quantity of Arjun Tank in Indian Amy. With sheer firepower, reliability and mobility, the Arjun Tank is expected to play primary offensive roles.

The summer trials are the most difficult ones. The T-90S tank which Indian Army showcases as the most advanced tank in its armor had trouble last summer. The T-90S which participated in Indian Army exercises was held in winter for which it is built for in Russia.

The last major trial of Arjun Tank in above 40 degree condition was in Exercise Ashwamedha, along Pakistan’s borders from April 29-May 3, 2007. Frontier India had published the details (click Here ) of the performance of Arjun Tank in the exercise.

Never heard of cryogenic engine on tanks. The weight can be reduced if Indian Army GSQR changes.

GSQR = General staff qualitative requirement.

You need to have behavioral engineer to rectify the army mindset. The tank is ok.
