Air Marshal PS Bhangu new Senior Air Staff Officer of WAC
Air Marshal PS Bhangu AVSM VM took over as Senior Air Staff Officer of the prestigious Western Air Command of Indian Air Force. He brings with him a wealth of experience in Strategic, Tactical, Flight Safety and staff matters. The Air Marshal is an alumni of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. During his illustrious services he has served in a number of fighter squadrons and achieved A2 category Flying Instructor and Fighter Combat Leader. He has commanded a front line fighter squadron and the prestigious Tactics and Air Combat Development Establishment (TACDE). He has over 4500 hours of combat flying experience.
He has also held the appointments as Joint Director Air Defence and Director Flight Safety, Flying Instructor in one of the friendly countries and Air Attaché in Embassy of India at Moscow, Russia. In addition to, he also held the appointment of Director General, Air Force Naval Housing Board, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Personnel Officers) and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Personnel Airmen & Civilians) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhavan). The Air Marshal was decorated with Ati Vishist Seva Medal in 1966 for his exceptional devotion to duty.
