40 Russian Air Force planes participate in joint drill with Russian Navy
During a joint Air Force and Navy exercises today, more than 40 aircraft of the Russian air force, including aircraft Tu-160, Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, A-50, IL -78, MiG-31 and Su-27 were involved.
The planes involved originated from more than 10 airfields. Air Force pilots collected intelligence, fired rockets, dropped bombs on the simulated enemy ship groups, conducted aerial battles, refueling in the air, as well as air patrols.
The exercises were carried out in North Atlantic and Arctic oceans. All flights during exercises were carried out and implemented in strict compliance with international regulations on the use of airspace over neutral waters, without violating the borders of other states.
